Hrithik Makes News In Pakistan

Hrithik Roshan, the latest Bollywood heartthrob and the son of actor-director Rakesh Roshan, is making news in Pakistan. His debut film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai has made him a superstar almost overnight there. Video distributors revealed that the film has been a complete hit and the sales have increased manifold. His posters seem to adorn every street and shop of this country. Even the local Urdu magazines have carried pictures of this hero on their covers. Reports from Karachi said that Hrithik’s dancing numbers has made him more popular. Indisputably voted as the new prince of Bollywood after his attention-grabbing debut in the film directed by his father, Hrithik's success already has the Khans denying that he gives them sleepless nights. To those who've known him personally, he seemed like an ordinary, unassuming boy willing to work hard and walk the long road to success unlike most star sons who usually prefer to rest on their parents’ laurels. Treated like any other set hand when he worked with his director father as third assistant on the sets, Hrithik has received plenty of hard knocks during the last five years. Denied any special privileges, he had to patiently wait for the right time to convince his father that his decision to join films was a viable one. It was only after Rakesh Roshan had finished shooting Karan Arjun and after Koyla flopped that he decided to cast his son, Hrithik in his next film. Armed with training from Kishore Namit’s acting classes and a will to succeed, Hrithik made his debut in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai opposite another newcomer, Amisha Patel. Hoping only to get “passing marks”, Hrithik was pleasantly surprised to see his film become a huge box office success and have the film industry welcome him with open arms as the latest boy wonder. This heartthrob was also the talk of the town because he had apparently threatened to sue those who exploited his name without his consent like the unlawful distribution of his posters by the Archies company. Not to forget the earlier rumours that Hrithik was signed on for the Coke campaign. Now that he seems to be basking in the glory of being the new kid on the block, not only in India but also in Karachi, this Greek god has the world at his feet-well, almost!
